Andrew Gillum is among male LGBT celebrities who identify as bisexual. Andrew has been married to R. Jai Gillum for the past 11 years, with whom they have three children.
The father of three was interviewed by journalist Tamron Hall after a scandal at Miami Beach hotel in March. He was found with a male sex worker in a room, who had reportedly overdosed on crystal meth.
2. Aaron Schock
Former American politician, Aaron Jon Schock is top on the list of those who came out this year. He classifies as gay since a recent post he made on his Instagram on 5th March.
In the post, he stated that his revelation should come as no surprise to people who know him. His advocacy for LGBTQ rights during his tenure as a former Republican congressman makes the announcement ordinary.
3. Da Brat
Da Brat is branded as the first female rapper to trailblaze the music industry back in the day. Her first album was released in the early 90s, and not long after that, she became a Grammy-nominated artist. The hitmaker is among celebrities who came out of the closet this year.
In March, Brat revealed on Instagram that she is dating businesswoman Jessica Dupart by sharing a birthday gift from her. In the post, the rap legend explained why she has always kept her sexuality a secret.
4. Rick Cosnett
Rick Cosnett is among the actors who came out in 2020. The 36-year-old star is known to fans as Eddie Thawne on “The Flash,” Wes Maxfield in “The Vampire Diaries, and Elias Harper in “Quantico.”
He announced that he’s gay in an Instagram clip, where he applauded himself for doing what he has always wanted to do.
“I’ve made a promise to myself to live my truth every day, and sometimes that is a really hard thing to do when you have all these subconscious things that you don’t even know about from childhood and society and from life. There you go. I’m sure most of you probably knew anyway.”
5. Rebecca Black
YouTube personality and viral “Friday” singer Rebecca Black has joined the list of LGBTQ singers who identify as queer. In a podcast interview, when asked about her identity, she responded;
“It’s like the quarantine, every day is different, and it’s something that over the past few years I’ve obviously been having a lot of conversations with myself. I think to me, the word queer feels really nice.”
6. Witold Sadowy
Celebrated actor Witold Sadowy let the cat out of the bag by publicly declaring that he’s been a gay man for almost all his life. Polished Sadowy made this announcement on his 100th birthday in an interview with TVP Kultura.
“For me, the most important thing is the survival of the truth; I’m proud of being an honest person. I didn’t get married, and I had no children, something I regret. But I was born different. I’m gay. Now I have said it all, like in confession.”
Growing up and living in Poland was difficult for the legendary actor since the country continually persecutes the LGBTQ community.
7. Lili Reinhart
Riverdale star Lili Reinhart is also among many celebrities who came out in 2020. She made the revelation on her Instagram, where she posted a flyer stating that she would be attending an LGBTQ+ for Black Lives Matter.
Along with the image, 23-year-old Lili wrote:
“Although I’ve never announced it publicly before, I am a proud bisexual woman. And I will be joining this protest today. Come join.”
In an interview with Flaunt magazine, Lili explained that she has always liked girls and boys from the time she was young. Lili’s disclosure comes after she broke up with her co-star, Cole Sprouse.
8. Niecy Nash
Emmy Award-winning actress Niecy Nash and Jessica Betts have made it to the list of LGBT celebs who are couples in 2020. Their nuptials caused a buzz on social media when Nash announced her marriage to musician Jessica Betts on 31st August 2020.
The revelation came as a shock to many fans since the actress had previously been in two different marriages to men. In an interview with People, Nash said that her marriage has absolutely nothing to do with gender, and it has everything to do with her soul.
9. Jameela Jamil
Good Place star Jameela Jamil publicly came out as queer in February on Twitter after her casting as an MC and judge on HBO Max’s voguing reality competition Legendary sparked controversy.
“Twitter is brutal,” Jamil said.
“This is why I never officially came out as queer. I added a rainbow to my name a few years ago when I felt ready to a few years ago, as it’s not easy within the south Asian community to be accepted, and I always answered honestly if ever straight-up asked about it on Twitter. But I kept it low because I was scared of the pain of being accused of performative bandwagon-jumping over something that caused me a lot of confusion, fear, and turmoil when I was a kid.
She went on to say that she didn’t come from a family where a member has come out. She also said that it’s scary as an actor to openly admit your sexuality, especially when you’re already a brown female in your thirties.
10. Philip Schofield
Well-known British TV host, Philip Schofield came out as gay in an emotional February Instagram post. In his first interview since revealing he was gay, Philip told The Sun;
“I am not saying I didn’t know. Whatever was there, I thought: OK, whatever this is, you stay back because I am happy.”
The television presenter said he suspected he was gay when he got married 27 years ago, but suppressed his feeling because he was happy.
